This year, Alice is honoured to be supporting King’s Trust’s ‘Women Supporting Women‘ initiative.
In the UK today, young people are facing the struggle of growing up against a backdrop of great instability, economic challenge and a rapidly changing world of work. The King’s Trust helps young people aged 11-30 to develop essential life skills, work readiness and access to job opportunities to secure sustainable employment and self-employment.
Since the organisation was set up in 1976 by HM The King, they are proud to have supported over 1.3 million young people across the UK. For those good at maths, you will also realise that this means not only is this our 90th year but also 50 years of The King’s Trust.
In 2018, the Women Supporting Women (WSW) collective was established to reach more young women, helping them build the confidence and skills to shape a brighter future. Spearheaded by Chrissie Rucker OBE, the founder of The White Company, the WSW community raised over £11.8 million for young women. This incredible campaigns has so far given just under 10,000 young women the chance to develop specialist skills, build vital confidence, and gain access to mentors and financial aid, so that they can move forward into a sustainable job, further education or become self-employed.
“Gimme 5” Fundraising Challenge

Our ‘Gimme 5’ challenge is open to any group that wishes to take part. You can take part in this as a Circle, sphere, individual, as a Tangent, Table, 41-Club or side-by-side in your local area.
Each participating group will be given £5. Now, we know that giving away money sounds like a terrible way to fundraising but bear with us!
Once you have that £5, you are going to spend it on items for your first fundraiser. Once that is complete, you can reinvest the money you’ve made into another fundraising idea – and can continue doing that until the deadline on 1st November. And if you haven’t managed to raise any money, all you need to do, is donate that £5 back to the charity.
The winner will be announced at the Presidential Ball on 14th November and the winner will receive a hamper of goodies.
